Aksigorta A.Ş. was established on April 28, 1960,
with its administration in Adana and business center in İstanbul,
in order to serve Sabancı Group’s companies. Today with its regional
offices in İzmir, Adana, Ankara and Trabzon, representative offices in İstanbul
European Side, İstanbul Asian Side, Antalya, Denizli, Diyarbakır,
Eskişehir and Samsun, more than 500 Akbank branches and more than
800 independent agents Aksigorta is one of the leading companies
in insurance sector with its increasing market share in non-life branches.
Aksigorta, who united its administration and business center
in its building in İstanbul İstiklal caddesi on November 20, 1961,
first put İzmir Regional Office into service in 1970 and then Ankara
Regional Office in 1985, Adana Regional Office in 1986.
The company realized the first transition into bank insurance
in 1981 and first policy arrangement online in 1983. These innovations
were followed by the starting of all the regional offices to
work online in 1989.
On November 1994 Aksigorta realized a very successful
'public offering' and today nearly 30% of its shares are
in transaction in İstanbul Stock Exchange

Aksigorta, at the end of 1995,
has moved from its historical Minerva Han Building in Karaköy to old
Akbank Head Office Building in Fındıklı which was
redecorated
for a modern working environment. When one of Sabancı Group’s
companies Akhayat A.Ş. was established in 1995, Aksigorta stopped
making new policies in life and health branches.

Company’s Painting Contests for primary school students,
which started the very same year and became a tradition,
have been organized in Istanbul, Izmir, Sanliurfa, Eskisehir,
Samsun, Antalya, Kocaeli and Hatay. The students who got degrees in these
contests were given different rewards and plaques. And the schools
of the first prize winners were being donated. The 9th of The Painting Contests will be organized in
Denizli.
Aksigorta, in October 1996, has been the first in Turkey
and put The Fire and Earthquake
Simulation Center into service,
which has a few examples in the world and which was built
solely with Turkish technology, with the concept of investment
for future adults. Nearly 33.000 students were given education
in this Center since then.
Moreover in 1996, Trabzon Regional Office was opened
and restructuring of regional offices has begun.
The same year, Human Resources Project was carried out.
By this way Aksigorta has passed on to the performance
management and career planning system.
In 1996 also some outstanding changes in the infrastructure
of Electronic Data Process has taken place. All of the projects
were renewed.
With The Bankassurance Project, for the first time in Turkey,
Policy Online application was started. The same year,
online connection with almost 150 agents was enabled.
Aksigorta proved its sense of service and work by ISO-9001 quality standart.
The Agents Project started in 1999, gave the agents the facility to run
their insurance transactions more efficiently with the help of a more modern software.
IVR system has become operational in
2001.
In 2002, a representative office was established in Bursa.
In 2002 also, our web site was
reconstructured and started to be hosted via company-based
systems and empowered by many new applications for our
customers. Same year, policies of Health branch were started
to be issued. In the last quarter of 2002, "Call
Center" has become operational, providing infos for
giving service, quick and of a better quality
to our customers on various insurance items from loss
file infos to price quotations.
